So the season of looooove is upon us. The card shops are overflowing with last minute shoppers, the florists have ran out of flowers, the restaurants are fully booked.. and I’m doing an Anti-Valentine’s Book Tag. The boyfriend and I will be enjoying a night in with dinner and an ample amount of prosecco 🥂, so really just a standard night for us.
Anyway, I stumbled across Bubbly Books post and totally tagged myself. *high-five*
1) Link back to the blog that tagged you!
2) Answer the 10 anti valentines day questions provided
3) Come up with your own 10 anti valentines questions (a massive thanks to Bubbly Books for coming up with the questions, so that I didn’t have to 😇)

The anti-Valentine’s Book Tag
Name a character that annoys you for no apparent reason.
Benji (from You- Caroline Kepnes) – slight cheat because there actually are many reasons..
Whats a book you read that ended in total heartbreak?
The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. Okay, listen, I’m not one for romance books, normally. But I do enjoy a wartime love story. This book was 637 pages of hardship, hope, happiness, fear, love, devotion and heartbreak. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love it. My heart is still broken years later! OMG I need to re-read this…..
He bent down and kissed her freckles. ” You can’t continue? My cartwheeling queen of Lake Ilmen?” Smiling, he shook his head. “You will find a way to live without me. You will find a way to live for both of us”.
Whats a book where one of your fav characters doesn’t make it?
The Fault in Our Stars. #nospoilers
A character that’s a total buzz kill?(we have all experienced that downer character that sometimes you wish would just go away !)
Still Benji. Go away!
A book in which the dreaded love triangle makes an appearance?
uh … Life after Death: An American Family.
Picture this – your wife goes missing and is presumed dead. You move on with your life and fall in love with someone else. You get married, have twins; and BOOM your missing wife is found alive and she still loves you.
Name a book filled with action packed fighting scenes.
The first one that comes to mind is The Defence by Steve Cavanagh. When Russian mafia is involved you know it’s never boring! Fights, guns, bombs you name it.
A book in which the older brother causes issues for the main couple?
A really sad book that makes you cry your eyes out while simultaneously breaking your heart?
The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris.
A book filled with blood and gruesome scenes you can’t get out of your head?
That’d have to be Paul Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World. Goddamn, there was SO MUCH BLOOD! *shivers*
Whats your favorite anti-valentines day movie?
I’m gonna go with Gone Girl. Nothing says I love you more than faking your own murder to frame your cheating husband 😏
And that’s it for today, folks!
I truly hope you tell your loved ones how much they mean to you whenever you feel like it, be it every day or every week or every month, and not just on the 14th of February. Friendships and relationships don’t need a designated day, granted, but I guess it’s nice to be pulled out of the routine for a day to show and receive appreciation for each-other.
I’m tagging:Molly’s Book Nook
