April’s New Books – 30 Days of April #17

Here’s the thing. I, Katlin, am officially on a book buying ban until end of May. No more new books until then! I complained the other day about my boyfriend having a fit because everywhere he looked there were books, and I then counted my TBR (see here) and agreed it’s completely out of control. No better time to do April’s book haul, amirite?

So here are April’s New Books:

April's New Books

Opposite of Always – Justin A. Reynolds

This was a pre-order, and I’ve already reviewed the ARC. I loved the book so much that I just had to have it. Review is available here, in case you missed it.

Twisted – Steve Cavanagh

Another pre-order. Technically does not count as new purchase, right?! Again, I have reviewed the ARC, see it here, and had to complete my Cavanagh’s collection.

Fixed Odds – William McIntyre

Fixed Odds was sent to me by Sandstone Press for a review and I am so excited to read it. I love a good legal thriller and this sounds like it’s just my cup of tea! Just check out the blurb:

There’s no such thing as a safe bet…

George “Genghis” McCann has stolen – and lost – a priceless masterpiece. Snooker champion Oscar “The Showman” Bowman is charged with betting fraud.

With second baby on the way, and promises of great rewards if he wins Bowman’s case and recovers the painting, defence lawyer Robbie Munro has never been so tempted to fix the odds in his favour.

Pub date 4 July 2019. Yes, yes and yes some more!

Different Seasons – Stephen King

Given to me by my best friend as a gift earlier this week. Different Seasons is a collection of four novellas:

Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption Hope Springs Eternal
Apt Pupil Summer of Corruption
The Body Fall From Innocence
The Breathing Method A Winter’s Tale

The Silent Wife – A.S. A. Harrison

I love getting books as present, and again this one was given to me by my friend and I am really excited to read it. You know how much I like a thrilling thiller!

Have you bought many books this month? Tell me which are you most excited to read?

  • Stephanie

I’ve only gotten one book this month, and I won that in a giveaway. I don’t buy a lot of books (no budget for it unless they’re used and very low priced); the library is pretty much my best friend. 🙂

I loved Different Seasons. I’ve read it several times in my life, and I hope you enjoy it as well!

    • Kat

Well done! I barely go to the Library, in fact can’t even remember when I last got a book from there. But I do buy most of my books second hand, because they’d be very expensive if I bought them all brand new.

Oh glad you liked it, I’ll try and read it soon 🙂 x
