As we’re getting closer to the day of my 31st birthday this weekend, I’ve taken a trip down memory lane. I wrote about audio books earlier this month (see here) and how much I used to love them as a kid. Those were the times where I didn’t have access to Audible, internet, or even CDs. All my old audio books are on cassettes.
You can tell I loved the Children of Noisy Village a lot – the whole book is in absolute shreds! There are pages missing but to be honest at the time I didn’t even need the pages as the story was embedded in my mind from start to finish.
I used to listen to the audio books until I knew every single line off by heart. My absolute favourite was Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, Winnie-the-Pooh and of course the Children of Noisy Village.
The oldest cassette in the collection dates back to 1993, when I was five. It is one with three fairy tales.
The newest is from 1998. There are a few without any dates on so I can’t confirm if there are any from before 1993.
Do you remember what your first audio book was? Let me know 🙂
