The Book Cake Tag – 30 Days of April #25

What the hell, Kat. Not Another tag, again?! Hey, hey stop judging! There is a bit of a reason why today is the best day for Book Cake tag. It’ll be my birthday in two days and I WANT CAKE. Believe this tag has been around for a long-long time and I’m not entirely sure who actually came up with it. Who every you are- what an absolute legend! Such a great idea (and now I want cake even more).

FLOUR: A book that was really slow to start but picked up as it went along

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. It was a struggle at first, and I wished the first half of the book didn’t exist but then the story picked up and I couldn’t put it down!

Sharp Objects - Gillian Flynn

MARGARINE: A book that has a really rich and great plot

The Bronze Horseman. I absolutely adore this book! The only book I would not run away from despite it being over 600 pages. This book is 600 pages of the most amazing story and I just cannot have enough of it.

The Bronze Horseman - Paullina Simons

EGGS: A book that you thought was going to be bad, but turned out to be quite enjoyable

The Cabin at the End of the World. I’m not one for dystopian, end of the world type of novels and only picked it up because I saw it on someone’s Instagram. I was so pleasantly surprised and ended up giving this book a full 5 out of 5.

The Cabin at the end of the world - Paul Tremblay

SUGAR: A sugary/sweet book

Hmmm… perhaps The Fault in Our Stars. I absolutely love this book, and although a bit on the sad side it is super sweet and full of sugar.

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

ICING: A book covering every element you enjoy

I like a variety of things and to be totally honest I am yet to find a book that covers suspense, legal thrill, ghost story and war romance all in one.

So I’m picking my last year’s favourite – Th1rt3en, because it was jaw dropping. Review here.

Th1rt3en - Steve Cavanagh

SPRINKLES: A book series you can turn to for a little pick me up when you’re feeling down

Probably Eddie Flynn series. To be honest, I don’t really read many pick me ups, let alone series. But Eddie Flynn is life and I know he wouldn’t fail to cheer me up when I’m feeling down.

The Plea - Steve Cavanagh

CHERRY ON TOP: Favorite book of the year so far

Opposite of Always. Read it and you’ll understand. Meanwhile you can check my review here. A fantastic book.

Opposite of Always - Justin A Reynolds

Here’s my cake, and I shall have it. Happy pre-birthday to me!
