• This Will Be The Year of Physical Book Vs Kindle

Hi friends! Since joining the “bookish” community and discovering the world of NetGalley and eBooks, I’ve noticed the struggle to read them whilst out-and-about. This is for a few reasons, but mainly because the phone is too small, the tablet on the other hand too big and heavy to carry around. So the other day I went against everything I believe in and purchased a second-hand kindle (because, you know, your old is someone’s new and it’s all about saving money in this cruel world!). Okay, so it has just arrived and…. WHY AM I SO EXCITED?! It’s so cute, it’s small, it weighs about as much as a feather and…

  • What’s on my TBR: February 2019

Hi friends! Gosh, I really do need to work on this whole scheduling posts to make sure I get stuff up on time, don’t I? But you know, better late than never (although never late is better.. I never did get around to it in January *hides in shame*.) This whole blogging thing is still new to me, ok? I’ll be on point next month! Anyway, you all know how excited I was to be using the TBR book jar and here’s what I picked for February: Caroline Kepnes – You (TBR) – spoiler alert, I’ve finished this in a day and really liked it. Ann Cleeves (TBR) Philippa Gregory (TBR) Haruki Murakami –…

  • The reason why everyone loves a book swap

Is there a better feeling than sharing something you feel passionate about with someone else? When I was hit with the biggest reading slump in December, I promised myself I will get back on track. I decided that perhaps I will need to get a bit more involved with the bookish community on Instagram and when I saw Busymamabookclub is hosting a book swap I was all hands up! January’s theme “Cheap As Chips” was perfect for the longest month of the year and required to be even more creative than normal to not go over the £5 limit, which was the only rule. I was paired up with the…

  • Spilling some tea!

Hi Friends! Hope you are all doing well? For today’s post I wanted to do something a bit different, and fun, and slightly embarrassing. We all have a few reading quirks and I am planning to do a completely separate post about those too (you know stuff like smelling new books, stroking the pages when reading – Ms Bird, that’s you!, skipping to the very last sentence first etc.) but today I wanted to share some of my bookish sins that have been weighing me down.

  • The to-be-read shelf from Hell

Hi friends! How are you? I’ve been having a bit of a crisis with my to-be-read pile lately. Undoubtedly something a lot of us struggle with. Each month it gets harder and harder to choose from the all the books on the shelf and I really needed something that would make the decision easier for me. There are currently 94 books waiting to be picked up. Arguably not the biggest number I’ve seen in this community but they all scream “pick meeee!!” every time it comes to selecting my monthly stack. Constantly breaking the book buying ban is only adding to the mess! I stumbled across Charlotte’s Wonderfully Bookish blog…

  • 2019 Reading Challenge

Hi friends! I feel like I’ve been hibernating in a cave somewhere for the past 4 weeks. I was hit with the biggest reading slump since August last year and found it impossible to concentrate on any books. Luckily it feels like I’m slowly climbing out of the dark ditch and am ready to take on 2019! One of my goals this year is of course to set a higher books target. My second goal is to venture out of my comfort zone (thrillers) to discover other genres and new authors. Thought putting together a list of different prompts might make it a little bit easier and definitely more fun.…
